One of the officials was a top advisor to the defense secretary.
Three Pentagon officials, including Secretary Pete Hegseth’s advisor Dan Caldwell, were placed on administrative leave after an investigation into Defense Department leaks. The defense secretary’s advisor was escorted from the building for “an unauthorized disclosure.” He had been a contact for the National Security Council and had been included on the controversial Signal Chat last month in which a journalist was inadvertently included.
Secretary Hegseth’s Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick was placed on leave as the investigation continued. Chief of Staff to Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg, Colin Carrol, was also suspended during the probe.
The investigation was conducted after information on military operational plans for the Panama Canal, a trip to the Pentagon by Elon Musk, the pause of intelligence to Ukraine, and the deployment of a second carrier to the Red Sea were leaked.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Hegseth to receive God’s direction as he oversees the Department of Defense.
- For wisdom for the defense secretary as he chooses officials in his department and office.
- For President Donald Trump and members of his administration as they appoint individuals to government posts.
